I have always enjoyed talking with people, learning about them, and exploring what makes them tick. I learn so much from the clients I am fortunate enough to work with, and am intrigued by each person’s story. I love exploring the strengths and uniqueness each person brings to my office, as together we create the vision for what they want their life to look like.

Life is a journey filled with twists and turns along the way. Many of the notable events in our lives that bring us great joy also come with a mixed bag of stress, uncertainty and loss. While the struggles experienced from a major life transition can be painful, I believe they provide us with rich opportunities for personal growth. Working with clients who are trying to adjust to a major life change and trying to find new meaning in their lives is one of the things I am most passionate about as a therapist. Getting married, starting a family, struggling in a marriage or intimate relationship, contemplating or going through a divorce, considering a new job or career change, becoming an empty nester, these are some common life transitions that can not only be hard to deal with but can also make us question our identity.

As I reflect on my personal journey it seems like it wasn’t that long ago that I was finishing grad school and starting my career, planning my wedding, moving into my first house, then starting a family and making the difficult decision to put my career on hold to be a stay at home mom. Years later the struggle to return back to work was daunting and difficult. And now it is hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that I have entered a whole new chapter in my life as my husband and I adjust to becoming empty nesters. Along the way there have been many struggles. Learning to keep balance in my life as a therapist, full time mom and wife, while also finding time to take care of myself was no small task. While my journey has not always been easy it has been rich and fulfilling, there have been unending opportunities for personal growth, and many valuable lessons have been learned along the way.

As a therapist my style is warm, nurturing and supportive. My clients would describe me as approachable, accepting and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a place where clients will feel safe and comfortable sharing their deepest thoughts, emotions and concerns. I believe the relationship with your therapist is the most important part of the therapeutic process, if you do not feel comfortable with who you are sitting across from, you are unlikely to get much out of the experience. Through this unique relationship and connection my goal is for my clients to gain a better understanding of themselves. I work with clients to bring awareness to behaviors and thinking that may be keeping them stuck and hampering their relationships and quality of life. I create hope and possibility for clients so that they believe in their ability to create the life they envision.

My approach supports the integration of the mind, body and spirit. I utilize mindfulness techniques in my work with clients to reduce anxiety, depression and reactive behaviors. I encourage clients to find balance in their lives and stress the importance of taking care of yourself both mentally and physically.

In addition to helping people re-establish direction after a major life change I also have experience working with a wide range of issues and challenges including relationship and intimacy issues, depression, anxiety, family changes, family conflict, women’s issues and emotional concerns. My experience includes working with clients in many different stages of life from adolescence to late adulthood.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working out, spending time at the lake, traveling, enjoying my two dogs and watching Falcons and Gator football.
